Sigh.

Hate to say it, but I think they’re phasing out Brittana.  In IKAG, it seems it might have been more deliberate than “Let’s give Finn some way to look like he’s maturing as a leader” and could be more “Let’s get Finn and Santana to reconcile their differences so Santana can be close to Finn when she’s in New York since there won’t be Brittany.”

And, yeah, Brittany’s been aloof this season.

I thought IKAG was just because Finn’s more the leader type than Brittany—and they had to reconcile “PoM,” somehow.

So I have some trepidation over “Heart.”  The cast and crew were tweeting a lot of Brittana (technically, Heya, but you know) when they started this episode—which makes me think they have a story line.

However, my trepidation could be unfounded because Brittana could have a story paralleling Finchel—which would be good, from what I can tell.  Seems like everyone’s doing that this season!  (Klaine in “The First Time,” then Wemma in “Yes/No,” and yes, I realize Wemma started it, not Finchel, but the point of paralleling is that they parallel each other—not that one leads the way.)

But I think Brittana is eventually doomed.  Brittany will flunk her senior year, and Santana will graduate and probably be the one dumped because she’s in so deep when it comes to Brittany while Brittany seems to be distant this year.

That could be why Brad made a point to insist that this season is about Santana, not Brittana—about Santana and her coming-out.  Then they brought Finn in to emphasize that point.
